How to Eat Right During Pregnancy

Establishing a healthy eating style is the next step. Eating healthy doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t have snack foods and have to eat fruits and vegetables all day long.

In order to create a healthy diet, you need to know what foods are healthy and how much you are to consume. Pregnant Food Pyramid

1st Trimester
Grains 6 ounces
Whole Grain Bread, Cereal, Crackers, Rice, Pasta
Vegetables 2 ½ cups
Dark Green and Orange Veggies & Dry Beans & Peas
Fruits 2 cups
Fresh, Frozen or Dried Fruit (Easy on Fruit Juices)
Milk 3 cups
Go Low-Fat or Fat-Free
Meat & Beans 5 ½ ounces
Low-Fat or Lean Meats & Poultry. Bake, Broil, Grill. Fish, Beans, Peas, Nuts & Seeds

2nd Trimester
Grains 8 ounces 9 ounces
Whole Grain Bread, Cereal, Crackers, Rice, Pasta
Vegetables 3 cups 3 ½ cups

It’s good to look at it when planning your meals. Try to add all food groups into a meal. That gives you much of your needed vegetables, some fruit, grains, milk and meat. A bit of each food group to the meal! Try to use all food groups when planning your meals.

If you do grilled cheese sandwiches and vegetable soup, there are grains, vegetables and a little dairy in the cheese. As long as you are eating your other healthy food and not supplementing with the junk, you should be fine!

After losing the weight, I got pregnant again and this time I am trying to eat healthy.
